On 26 January 2016, representatives from the Ministry of Education, Development Partners, and National Advisors for education gathered at the Yangon University of Education to discuss an early draft of the national Teacher Competency and Standards Framework, the development of which UNESCO is supporting through the “Strengthening Pre-service Teacher Education in Myanmar” (STEM) project. This news was expressed by UNESCO Bangkok Website on 8 February, 2016.
